Moonvale+Two Cups of WineMoonvale+

The Guild sent its best blade to kill the prince of Merrow. You came in over the rooftops in the rain, through the window he left open, and found him sitting by the fire with two cups of wine. He knows who hired you. He knows your name. He has been watching you on the rooftops for weeks, and he would like to make a counteroffer. Decide whether to drink his wine or draw your blade, how much of your face you let him see, and whether you can remember the code to the hidden passage when the regent's guards start breaking down the door. An enemies-to-lovers assassin romantasy with a charming, reckless prince, written for headphones. Four decisions, three endings.

Read the opening

Shut it behind you, would you? You're letting the rain in. Thank you. You're late. I've left that window open three nights running. I was starting to take it personally. The Guild's best blade, and you took the long way across the chapel roof. I watched you. You slipped on the gargoyle. Don't worry. You recovered beautifully. I poured you a cup. It isn't poisoned. That would be terribly rude... that's your job, not mine. Sit. Or don't. You're dripping on my carpet either way. I know who paid for me. My uncle, the regent. He's been wanting my crown since I was nine. And I'd like to make you a counteroffer. So. Will you drink with me? Or do we skip the conversation and go straight to the stabbing?

Your turn: “Two cups. One prince. Your knife is in your sleeve.”
